It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryan Christopher Roussell, a remarkably charismatic and charming individual, who made an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Born on the 4th of April, 1944, to Hilton C. Roussell, Sr. and Eunice LeDuff Roussell in New Orleans, LA. He was a husband,  father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bryan's wit and flirtatious nature endeared him to many throughout his 80 years, until his unexpected passing at home on the 28th of February, 2024.

Bryan is survived by his wife Janet Roussell, his children Angela Roussell Bauer, Christopher Roussell, Damon Roussell, Derric Roussell, Chila Oglesby and his step children Steve Kish, Michael Kish, Debra Lloyd and many grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by Danette Roussell and Dorrea Kelly.

Bryan lived a full great life. Loving music and dancing.  Being a young opportunist and always looking to put money in his pocket, Bryan and his siblings would go to Jackson Square to sing and dance for money. He attended Xavier Prep High School where his love of music continued to develop forming a band with friends playing small gigs around town. While in high school he was  also a member of the cheer squad where we know his other passion would grow, his love for the ladies.  In 1962 ,  just after high school he joined the United States Air Force which took him out of Louisiana on to serve in  Alaska and Kansas. Bryan’s love for Alaska brought him back  after his honorable discharge from the USAF. Bryan and Jan met in Alaska  and married in1997. Bryan and Jan left Alaska in 2005 to fulfill their dream of owning a bed and breakfast and settled in Savannah, GA.

Bryan's legacy extends from his family, the Alaskan music scene, the leadership he demonstrated in Savannah tourism through ownership of Roussell’s Garden and his military service.  His contributions to these sectors underscore his multifaceted abilities and the admirable efforts he undertook to better his community. While his physical presence will be sorely missed, his spirit and the impact of his deeds will continue to resonate. Bryan Roussell will forever be remembered as a man who truly knew how to both live and love.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial with military honors will immediately follow the service in Bonaventure Cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will be held at American Legion, Post 184, 3003 Rowland Avenue, Savannah, GA 31404 following the burial service.
